Just curious as to how others might have added a touch of magic to their daily routines today.
For me, today I started off with my morning prayer/meditation and later in the day I cleaned out and refilled my bird feeders and did a bit of gardening. While doing so, I gave thanks for our feathered friends and nature in general. It's a small thing, but I do like to do it.
Also, although not strictly witchy, I signed up to become a blood donor and will give my first lot of blood in November!
I've been into the Craft for so long, Witchiness is pretty much entwined with everything I do. (Hopefully, B*tchiness is not, lol.)
@Arachne I hope that's how I become in the long run. I've heard a lot of people say that they often find themselves doing things without even realizing it. :)
@Mandy M Walking the path of the Craft doesn't require special "magikal" implements, or the "correct" moon phase, or the "right" spell, or the the approval of "Witchy" colleagues. These are all helpful, especially when you are starting out, but if the Craft is right for you, you will find they are not necessary. You will become the Craft as it shapes, and is shaped by, your will. You will find Magick in the laundry and Mystery in the soccer carpool!
Well I use a charm bag under my pillow for more quality sleep. After I wake up I usually brew some tea (brewing tea is basically element work. Tea leaves from earth, put into heated water with steam coming of of it) and charge it with an intention. I wear crystals on my neck and I create an energy shield around me to prevent people from draining my energy (I am forced to work with those almost all the time). I then use the rest of the tea as an offering and do some reasearch on The Craft :)
I started doing a morning tea ritual when I read about it here, in this coven. (I can't remember the exact post.) I like your insight about brewing tea as elemental work! Now, as I prepare my first cup of the day, I say:
As I stir my morning tea, I wish us all a Blessed Be!
As I stir my morning brew, Bright Blessings all go out to you!
Then I send out my request/blessing/thoughts for the day.
@Arachne Well, it isn't exactly MY insight tbh, I heard it in one of Olivia's videos. :D I really like the chant btw, it's really cool.
@Arachne I love this!
I did a money spell and also set out my moonwater. Blessed be.
Harvested the last herbs from my garden as the cold is coming. If the frost holds off tonight, I will harvest additional herbs from around the neighborhood tomorrow: motherwort and mullien.
Well, aside from reporting spam I keep finding scattered through the forum (not a particularly "witchy" thing, but I'm trying to help defend the team I'm on!)... I've been spending a little time every day trying to organize all the notes & snippets of spells that I've scribbled on assorted pieces of paper & stuck into my BoS... One of these days I might actually become organized enough to write them in properly! LOL
Solicitation???? Really??
Doing the daily work of reporting spam for the coven, of course. Right now I am researching spells to protect my dreams while I sleep. Nightmares every night all night. If I didn't know better I would say I pissed someone off and this is their payback.
I lit a candle and some incense to honour the goddess Freyja as she's truly blessed my life these past few days. I also tend to light a tea candle everyday to honour my other deities, Mother Earth and my spirit guides. Reminds me, I'll have to pick up some more soon :'D
Lately I've begun noticing that I have what I would call "witchy" thoughts pop up unbidden on a daily basis. For example, I went shopping with my mom today and was happily shocked to find a bunch of small 99 cent unscented jar candles in the full-price supermarket... Couldn't figure out a good excuse to buy any right then (still in the broom closet) but I'll be back...! The thing was, my first thought when seeing them wasn't, "Hey, those could come in handy if the power goes out," but more along the lines of, "Hey, I can use that color for that spell, that other color for that other spell..."
I mixed sun water and hyacinths to make an offering to Apollo asking for protection and health in my household
I like to at least sit down and have tea with the goddess every night before bed. She seems to enjoy it. :)
Beautiful
I've been trying to do something small and witchy every day! I apply a sigil with some oil in the mornings on workdays, and carry a charm with me for work specifically because I've had issues with energy and shielding at work. Today I planted a lot of seeds, and burned my protection candle, and filled up some jars with herbs from my shelf :D
I did a little yard work today (between rains) and when I finished, I grabbed some expired eggs out of the fridge and buried them in the yard - 6 by each entrance, 3 by each window - telling each what I was asking it to do just before placing it into its hole.
And yes, I am *such* a good housekeeper that I not only had enough expired eggs, I had two left over that I put into a ground-level hollow in one of the big trees behind my house that looked like it wanted some positive attention. :-)
Now I just have to figure out what to do with the remaining 1-1/2 boxes of expired eggs in the fridge... <sigh>
Cleansed new tools with Palo Santo smoke, watered my plants, ordered some witchy books. Sometimes it’s little things that make it witchy.
