Hey, y'all. Just wondering what everyone is planning for Litha this week. This is my first solstice that I'll be able to overtly celebrate and I wanna go all out. I know I'm doing sun water for sure, but I'm not sure if there are any intentions that benefit from this occasion specifically. Looking for inspiration/info so feel free to post your plans here if you'd like. :)

following this post because honestly i never have a clue for how to celebrate these holidays hahaha
I've recently been reading Lisa Lister's "Witch: Unleashed. Untamed. Unapologetic." (Really great read btw) And I have some suggestions she has given for herbs to use for Litha, as well as items you can incorporate into your alter during Litha :) Herbs of Litha: Lavender -- which is considered a masculine healing herb. It was thrown onto Midsummer ritual fires as a sacrifice to the gods. St John's wort: if St. John's wort is picked on Midsummer and worn, it's supposed to ward off fevers and colds.
Alter items for Litha:
Mirrors; seashells; summer fruits and flowers; Tiger's eye crystal.
And lastly, here is a screenshot you may find useful on a couple of recipes for Litha. (They're from @wiccantips on Instagram, a cool account that gives out ideas for each of the holidays and such!) Good luck :)
I am absolutely making that cake! Thanks for the ideas S O!
I am just going to have a bonfire around that time and maybe collect the Litha ash. And it's my birthday around then so celebrate that as well.
Hi Emilie, just wondering, are you planning on burning any particular woods on the bonfire? Also, do you have any planned uses for the ash? I had a Beltane fire and collected the ashes but I don't know what to do with them!
Finally, many happy returns for your upcoming birthday :)
Thank you. Also, no I don't have any planned spells or wood. I am just going to collect the ash and use it for any spells that corrolate with the power of Litha.
The only plans i have so far are recreating this urban outfitters wall hanging for above my altar (which im finding somewhat difficult because it has a horse and horse anatomy is hard to draw!) and also making these honey lavender cookies!! https://lovelygreens.com/lavender-honey-cookie-recipe/
If medieval artists can create horses, so can you, I bet even better! You can do it! Medieval horse drawings for entertainment purposes:
On a similar topic, look up medieval cat drawings for a good laugh sometime.
My birthday falls on the day after, the 22nd. I plan on going out into the forest on the east side of the state and burn some lavender, then I will take the ashes out to my happy hunting grounds and bury them. I will probably do a spell for success and abundance for the hunt in August. I know a hunting witch! Kind of odd but so am I! At least that is my plan for the ashes.
One of the metaphysical shops in town held a Litha ritual this past Sunday and gave us honey jar spells to do (I pulled a self love spell ♥️). On the solstice I'm gonna wear my flower crown and some yellow to work and then Saturday a local council is throwing a huge ritual! Busy busy busy!
