Has any one else heard this? Think it will have any lift off and if so will it affect witches? I feel that, while id rather this not happen, I think Samhain will still be the same for witches. How many people would even recognize it's changed? Thoughts?

What do you mean Halloween moved?
I don't know about everywhere else in the world but in the US there is an internet petition to change Halloween to the last Saturday of October.
Nooooooo they can’t change Halloween!!!!
They were trying to move it so it would be on a weekend for kids. Most kids are done by 8pm anyways. It won't change for me.
I see. I personally think it’s an all ages holiday so it’s not fair to those over 18 for Halloween to be moved.
I like the idea because Hallowe'en coming on the eve of school and work days tends to cut the revelry short. Also, imo, the move will help legitimize it as a "real"holiday in our society, up there with Presidents' Day, Thanksgiving, and Easter. I'll continue to observe Samhain on November 1st and its eve (October 31st), so now I'll have another holiday to celebrate.
It's actually already one of the biggest money-makers of the year for various manufacturers, and is slowly becoming an "adult" holiday due to it being a good excuse for older folks to act like they're young again... :-)
I don't think it will change much, just as Christmas doesn't negate Yule for many of us. LOL I'm all for trick-or-treating being on a weekend (many cities already move any community Halloween events to the closest weekend anyway), it will give me more time to my own observances for the holiday anyway!
