Any other witches that play D&D (or other RPGs)? Quarantine makes finding fellow gamers that have similar interests and morals difficult, so I thought I would try here. :)
I play Dnd. And I feel that the hardest. I used to be in like 5 games but once covid started my local shop stopped doing game stuff and I miss it sol bad. I also play a RPG called blades in the dark and I have played the 80s marvel superhero system.
I have never been able to find a decent group, because I'm still in high school, and finding groups on other sites can be kinda dangerous for a teen. Also, the kids that play dnd at my school don't follow rules at all, and go nuts with the game. Like, I know the game is supposed to be fun and all, but it really sucks the fun out, when the structure and rules get thrown out the window. For example, the nat20 rule is only supposed to come into play during combat, but some people get upset if their dm won't let them seduce a freaking lich or something with a nat20; it's just too ridiculous- especially in a serious campaign or session.
I have noticed that a lot of groups, whether in high school or not, have a tendency to do that, especially in 5th edition where the DC is for the harder things is only mid - upper 20s. I have been the dungeon master for both 5th ed and 3.5 (5th ed first) and while 3.5 is more technical and involves quite a bit more number crunching it has the added benefit of an out of combat reroll rule that makes it so your Nat 1s arent always failures and gives the Nat 20s the ability to go above and beyond what the character should be able to do.
As for finding a group... I might be able to put together a group and do either a roll20 campaign, or put something together to do over discord?
I have discord, but I rarely use it so I'm kind of unfamiliar with it. :/ I'm also pretty timid when it comes to online people. Hopefully some more people can find this thread and may reply and start a lil' group.
I wouldn't ask any random old joe to play in a game, because I completely understand the online people thing. Random people on the internet are weird and creepy, particularly when it comes to the gamer community. Like, I work at a nerdy gamer store and u would not believe some of the people I have had to deal with. I have had more creepy encounters with the IRL gamer community near me than anywhere else, and I can only imagine how internet gamers I have never met would act, especially because I am a female and I do dm.
In all actuality i was gonna pop into the Wonderlust Coven discord and the Coven of Magical Yeet discord and see if any of them would like to be in a game, as not only are they more active than this forum but they also fit your criteria of similar morals and I know there are plenty of gamers in those servers.
The worst part of it was that the software only worked intermittently and the data was not accurate. You obviously canot confront anyone about what you have discovered if the information is not right. healthgrades for Andrea Natale
