So it's week 3 of my 2nd semester in college, and I decided to sign up for Intro to Philosophy JUST BECAUSE the description of the course said "...contemplate the existence of God..." I have been arguing with the professor almost every class session about souls, Gods, and Goddesses, as well as energies, and spirits. My Proff is genuinely proud that I am engaging the way I am, and so am I. My head has been hurting after each argument though, because I go in with fact, and then I turn to Anger lol! My proff gave me his email to send him some topics to discuss in class I wanna email him about Witchcraft and to talk about it in class just to see where that flows. Any ideas on what to email him about (there is so much I don't know where to start lol)
Perhaps you can e-mail your professor about the misconceptions surrounding Wiccan symbols like the all-seeing eye, the pentacle, the horned god, and others; and describe what their true meanings and origins are. You might even have him consider relating these symbols to other religions in the world, to show that we aren't all so different, no matter what we believe in. I just find it very disappointing that there is a negative stereotype; and most people don't go out of their way to find out the true meaning of things before they make assumptions. As in, the moment someone sees a pentacle, the automatic response is usually "Oh, that's Satanic!" Haha. I was like that myself before I got into Wicca. Maybe you can be an instrument of open-mindedness to the people in your class, too. :-)
I like that, that is a great idea I am going to email him about that. Thank you!!! I'll be sure to update you when possible on how the discussion went
Looking forward to it. Best of luck to you!
