Okay to i don't know about you guys but when I got my first ever deck of tarot I was so excited that the first thing I wanted to do was jump straight into it and fall down that amazing tarot hole of wonder only problem is I am a very slow learner and this for me at least put a huge damper on my pull towards tarot. Don't get me wrong I did and still do absolutely love doing reading but there was just something about drawing my cards and then having to reach for my phone or a little booklet to know what the cards actually meant that I just couldn't help but find disheartening so in being the person I wish I had when I first started I thought I would share a really amazing app that helped me and is still helping me learn and remember my deck, and this is in no way an ad or anything it really just has helped me so much. The app is called labrinthos acadamey and is free on both the Apple and Android play stores, trust me to anyone that struggles with remembering your deck this app can be soooooo useful

I downloaded this app and while it wasn't for me, it was great and super user friendly. I was honestly just happy the option to use the app was there for me. :)
I was always intrigued by tarot, but I also felt like the magic was lost when I had to pause and read about every card. One day I stumbled upon "WTF is Tarot? ...& How do I do it?" by Bakara Wintner in the Kindle Store and it read like a book (I LOVE novels) or a conversation with a friend, so I read it cover to cover. She makes relations between cards well and makes each one a unique story, so now I can get a feel for each card by simply glancing back when I do readings. If you find a source that speaks to you, it gets to feel familiar and not so detached from your life.
This is a really good idea to use!
I found a book called "How To: Read the Tarot" by Sylvia Abraham. She uses a keyword system that teaches the card meanings, if you're following the RWS style deck it was easy to pick out the symbolism after reading it, and it's easy to flip through in the beginning too :) If you're learning on a Thoth type deck, I found "The Tarot Handbook: Practical Applications of Ancient Visual Symbols" by Angeles Arrien to be really helpful.
As an intuitive reader myself, I don't use any of these things anymore but they were incredibly helpful in the beginning of my journey. :)
Thanks for the tip! I will definitely be checking this out. I am a begginer as well and this seems super helpful
im new to and i have to reach the book or my phone but now before doing that i medititate on how the card makes me feel my cards have keywords so i let my intuition take it the way it pleases first then when i do the research on my phone i dont have to go deep in the internet cause i did the research in myself. also i search up the cards in pinterest theres alot of collages on the cards that sum the meanings up. thanks for the App though now i have another way
Oh I love this. I was taught by my mom and grandma, but I teach once in a while and this is a fantastic tool for daily practice! I've been recently gifted a copy of Modern Tarot by Michelle Tea, and I found it lovely for beginners and practitioners as well. It goes pretty deeply into the archetypes on every card and updates the old fashioned way of the portraying on them and puts a feminist perspective to the craft which I found amazing.
It works with the Rider-Waite tarot, but you can use what you have. Here's the link, if someone would like to check it out. https://www.amazon.com/Modern-Tarot-Connecting-Higher-through/dp/0062682407
