My brother found a child in the woods today who we suspect might have been doing magick, but I can't find any info on the ritual he seemed to be performing. He kept mentioning how he had on a red hoodie and had with him red spray paint and a few tools. He (the boy) was digging a seven ft hole (in which he wished to sleep inside of) at the base of a tree on which had a symbol spray painted (see image below) with four or five wooden planks to the right of it, all bearing the same mark. The tree also had a line around it, as if someone had begun to try to chop it down.
We thought that perhaps he might have been a djinn, as we've come to know that djinn posses people by making them feel a strong emotion (at least this is what we have seen from people who have had close encounters with them). The boy was trying his very hardest to make my brother upset, talking about topics you wouldn't normally talk about outside the comfort of your own home and definitely not with a stranger.
He said the symbols meant specific things to him. The hour glass represented "The time we have left" (his own words), the circle represented his two friends, and the line down the middle showing how they were divided.
If anyone knows anything about what he was trying to do, please let me know. My brother is getting antsy and won't stop bothering me about it and I'd really like to stop hearing "What if he was digging a hole to hell?!" for five minutes. If it helps, the woods were near some train tracks.

I'm not an expert on this stuff but think it would help all of us if we had a little more information.
What was he doing with the planks? Were they arranged in a certain way?
Which questions did he ask your brother (unless they're too personal to share)?
Do you guys know anything about this boy? Does he have any connection to a tradition that would put him at risk for being possessed by a djinn? I don't really know anything about djinn, are they confined to a certain geographical location? I'm assuming that you do live in an area where djinn could potentially be found?
I'll search for that symbol, but in the meantime, the color red is an important factor. Again I don't know what kind of tradition that kid follows, but if you are concerned about djinn which are like a middle eastern thing, (correct me if i'm wrong!) then would the specific associations of red in the Islamic tradition be a better indicator of what the red meant in his ritual?
