Hello Coven,
It's me again! I see that the forum isn't very active, but I hope someone will be able to help me.
I started magic for the first time two weeks and half ago, I did 4 spells (petition papers) and today just tried a Good Luck Bag.
Each time I used the same candle, a long one, green. I always clean it before I use it. But by 3 times it reacted very weirdly.
Each time the candle flame gone wild, then it sputtered and the flame blown out by itself. I tried to relight it but impossible. Before doing any spell I just lit the candle to see if something would happen, and everything was okay, no problem at all. But when I use it during a spell, same problem.
I searched what's the meaning of this and it is said:
"A noisy candle indicates communication with (or interference by) outside forces. An uneven burn can signal that someone or something is working against you. Hisses, sputters, and whistles are sometimes said to carry messages from ancestors and spirits—try listening to them and hearing what they say."
So is it something evil, a spirit that I know or else? I don't understand what to do and how to fix the problem. Should I give up witchcraft before something very bad happens?
Now I know why my life is a mess and why I can't move on, whatever I try...I thought it was just bad luck, but it seems to be more than that.
Thanks for reading me, and I hope someone here can help me!
Hello @Autumn Witch! Very interesting topic. Let me say this straight off the bat, there is now reason for you to quit practicing witchcraft! You are brand new to the craft and still have so much to discover and learn! Don't be discouraged!
Regarding your candle spells, I would try a good house cleansing first, then I would do a self cleansing, maybe a shower or bath would work great! Try to get rid of any bad vibe or any thought that makes you feel like your life is a mess.
Make a nice cup of tea and reflect on those things that make you feel that way about your current situation, remember that witchcraft is all about self empowerment and self love!
Make sure you dedicate some time to yourself, set a very strong intention to make things better, and once your feel things are flowing, and you are balanced and centered, then try a spell!
I´m sure the results will be very positive! Remember you are the source of magick, if you are not doing well, your spells won't be as effective. Much love and light from the Andes Mountains!

Thanks for your answer, that's nice of you!
I'm gonna clean my apartment with incense etc, I'm gonna do sigils, charms bags and I'll see if something changes.
Because I'm really exhausted of being in a vicious circle that never ends...
Hi -- and welcome to the magic club! 8-D I'll second what @TheAndesWitch said: Don't be discouraged, keep going. Not every spell works (or works as expected//intended); not every experience will be rainbows & unicorns; not all messages will be clear. When things don't seem to be working, the best thing to do is exactly what you're doing: do a little research and reach out for suggestions and guidance.
That said... My information about "noisy" candles is the same as what you found, and the fact that the candle only acts this way when used for spellwork rules out any of the possible mundane problems that I thought of. However, while re-reading your post something jumped out at me: you're worried, you're tired, you're scared, and you are doing a heckuvalot of magickal workings in a very short period of time. So my suggestions are...
1) Slow down a little. Magick can use a practitioner's personal energies just as much as (if not more than) it can add to a practitioner's personal energies. Take a day or two off from doing any spellwork (including sigils, bags, jars, etc.) and just engage in some quiet grounding. Meditate, write in a journal, take a walk in a park, etc. etc. etc. Give your internal batteries a chance to recharge before trying to light that giant magickal flashlight in the sky! :-)
2) Pay very close attention to your emotions and expectations (this is just as important while preparing to do spellwork as it is during the casting of a spell). The way you've written about the problem, it's not too hard to hear your subconscious mind going, "But what if this doesn't work? There's a problem! Something is wrong! This might not work!" That's a perfectly natural response to this kind of experience, but it can also literally be telling that candle, "Hey, do that again!" As you prepare for this or any other spell, make sure your mind is clear and that you've pushed away any nagging doubts about the spell's efficacy or concerns about it failing before you've even begun. It sometimes takes laser-like focus on a specific intent, but make sure your desired intent is your only intent and see how that works.
3) FYI, #2 above is a lot easier after #1 above. I'm just sayin'... :-)
Again, don't give up -- there may be external forces at work here, but there's a very high likelihood (especially for someone newer to the Craft) that you're experiencing the result of your own mind's "static" interfering with a clear "broadcast." Best of luck, and let us know how things work out!
@Brian NobleHeartedLion Thank you for your comment.
I've to say that you're right. I was tired, worried...but I really wanted to do these spells. I focused too much on them that I ruined everything!
I read a lot, take notes, I did my protection bags to feel more secure etc. Between the last spell and all this, I stopped everything for a week. I needed to be far away from all this to "refresh" my head.
Tonight I did a little spell, one hour and a half ago and everything went well!! No wild candles, no weird things!
