Hello Friends,
I’m in serious need of your help. I have tried to loose weight for most of my life and I have not been successful. I‘m currently weighing in at 260 which is close to the heaviest I’ve ever been. Ironically, I’m as consistently active as I’ve ever been as well. My husband and I go rock climbing twice a week for at minimum 3 hours at a time for nearly a year now.
I’ve researched some spells online but because weight loss is such a hot topic, I don’t feel like I can trust the sources too well. I did find one which was more of a banishment/uncrossing which is pretty interesting, but I wanted to see if you have any other suggestions.
Many Blessings,
Sage
In terms of spells, it would probably be centered on your intuition and whether you have the proper incentive to lose weight. One of the things I learned from doing my Psychology degree is in you don't have the internal motivation to do something you're unlikely to do it (i.e. I want to lose weight because I want to feel happy versus I want to lose weight because someone else has told me to). A useful spell for your situation might be one that focuses on your own goal and imbuing that with energy rather than relying on certain herbs to increase your metabolism and such.
I realise this isn't a 'witchy' help but I thought it might be useful for you to decide what you want to be the focus of your spell. From what you've put it's easy to say that your mind is in the right point. So another point to consider is to possibly do a spell that will allow your determination to lose weight continue in the long-term. A problem my friend has is that she starts going to the gym and dieting and then just loses the motivation to continue, no matter how well she does it.
Hopefully this helps! Sorry if it was just me rambling and eventually being useless.
Thank you for taking the time to respond. I totally agree, I don’t think just herbs are the way to go and I’m certainly not looking for a quick fix I know the doesn’t really exist. I think I need to do something to let me body know it’s ok to lose weigh. I’ve done so much research over the years and one of the psychological studies I’ve found had hypothesized the brain processes stress in the same location whether your life is perceived to be in danger (such as in the hunter gatherer days) or regular 1st world problems stress. I’ve been trying to manage stress better but in some situations it’s incredibly difficult and I need to let my body know... hey we’re not starving anytime soon... let it go lol
I’m also in the process of trying to lose weight (like you, it’s something I‘ve struggled with all my life). I’ve had times where I was successful at losing weight, only to gain it back a year or so later. For the past year I’ve been working on shifting the way I think of food, and I’ve had some success. Instead of thinking “I need to eat healthy food in order to lose weight,” I choose whole foods because “this will nourish my body, and give me energy.” I think eating whole foods itself can be witchy since you’re eating food in it’s most natural form (at least as close as you may be able to get it). It’s truly amazing that the earth grows all of these different fruits and vegetables for us to fuel our bodies. Think of them as gifts! As offerings, or as friends providing you the support you need (this has changed my like tremendously). You can even thank the food as you’re eating it!
I would also suggest making a vision board! It can be one dedicated to several aspects of your life, incorporating health and wellness, or it can be completely dedicated to weight loss (you can have more than one). I have mine hanging on the wall next to my bed so that I see it every morning. When I wake up I make sure to spend 5-10 minutes looking it over, as it reminds me to make decisions throughout the day that will ultimately get me to those goals. Then I make a list of things I can do that same day each morning to get me closer to achieving what it is that I want, checking them off as I complete them.
On the health section of my vision board, I put the quote “Growth is painful. Change is painful. But nothing is as painful as staying stuck where you do not belong.” I read this every morning, and continue to say it to myself throughout the day as a reminder that in order to see the results that I want, I need to make changes, to take action. Otherwise, I’m not living to my full potential - I’m not where I belong.
These vision board practices have made a huge difference in my motivation and activity level throughout the day! Hopefully something in here helps!
Good luck and blessed be.
