I am so confused about sigils. I am a baby witch and I am currently working on trying to figure out sigils, but the information I am getting is confusing me.
On one hand I am seeing to put sigils on backbacks and in your shoes and on your candles(for example), on the other hand I am seeing that once you have create it and charged it you are to burn it and forget it.
Does this depend on what the sigial is for? Or do you create a new one every time you need one even if the intention is the same?
I would say it depends on what works for you.
My general rules for sigils:
1. They can be put on anything, using anything that makes a mark.
2. They can be as temporary or permanent as you want them to be. To destroy or remove a sigil, burn it or wash it away with moon water. If you painted it, paint over it with black or white. To maintain a sigil, recharge regularly.
3. If you need something specific, like for strength or hope, you can research sigils online or in books and use what speaks to you. If you can't find what you need, make one of your own. Keep track of the ones you use or like in your Book of Shadows. Also, keep a list of any that you invent, as they will be most powerful for you.
Blessed be :)
There is a lot of conflicting info out there, but generally what works for you.
The important thing is that the sigil speaks to you. Does it feel more meaningful to write out the sigil then burn it? Will forgetting it make it more powerful? Will using another's speak to you specifically?
I find that I need to forget the exact process I used to create the sigil, but if I forget the sigil itself, I cant use it. So I just write it down over and over again until that happens. You know when you say a word over and over again, it no longer sounds like a recognizable word? Same concept.
The important thing is that YOU feel its power.
