Hey, I'm a babie witch that doesn't know how to research things properly. I was just wondering if y'all could give me some basic information about divination, like what is it? and what is it used for?
Divination is a way to seek/gain answers about something. It's using whatever means you have (tarot cards, pendulums, crystal balls, etc) to get an answer to a question. For example, you can ask "Will I get stuck in traffic leaving town this weekend?" and the universe will send you a response which is then interpreted through whatever medium you've chosen and your own thoughts and feelings. This is often portrayed in media as fortune telling. In my experiences I've never gotten a concrete answer right away, there's a lot of introspection and interpretation involved so my advice would be to make sure you've got time to sit down and focus on what message is being sent to you.
Okay so basically it's like a prophecy except about random questions that you ask the universe? I'm still new to this stuff so sorry if I don't catch on right away. Although I have just started learning the different tarot cards and their meanings today, so I hope this'll be something I can do later in life. Anyway, thank you for the help, this cleared up at least some questions.
Divination is communication to and from the Divine.
Ask questions, get answers.
Make request, receive response
Sometimes it works both ways, but this is usually because said sources have very important reasons to communicate to you directly.
(No such thing as coincidence)
Secondly, tools like Tarot, Crystal Ball, Pendulums, etc. Are used to amplify and enhance the communication by having said tools act as a vessel for both the Energy that you project (or your client) and the energy said respondents will work through.
At least that's what my research and experience has taught me.
A word of Caution about Divination practice. Always check your sources when receiving feedback from these sources. Not all of them are good.
