I live in a household with 5 cats, and it's just not logical for me to have an altar out in the open. Cats are destructive and have an affinity for stealing away things like crystals. So, this was my solution. I bought the box for 3$ at Walmart and I had the rest of the supplies at home. I'm so pleased with how this turned out. It's a fairly small box, a 7 1/2 inch square, but it works nicely. I didn't do much to the outside yet, I'll update with new pictures if/when I do.
I drew a sigil on the bottom before layering on the Popsicle sticks. I love how they look like wood floor, all it took was some watered down paint and hotglue.
I added a cross front and center to represent my Christian faith and found other items for the elements. It's large enough to store a tealight and incense burner as well as a couple of crystals and my pendulum.
overall, it was a super fun project and totally customizable!

I have one too and I think it is so practical when going on trips as well
Oooh, I like that yours has a handle. Mine doesn't. I might attach one when i work on the outside.
That's a good idea. I have had mine for over 20 years. I just love it.
These are both gorgeous!!! So inspiring. Thanks for sharing!
That's a great idea. Could even consider it a mobile alter to take on a road trip. Love it. Thank you for the inspiration and new idea!
That is a brilliant altar and I might give it a try too
Adorable!
I love the moss ✨👍 I never thought about doing mine, thanks for sharing 🙏 it's super "cosy safe" if it makes sense, the kind you instantly adopt forever. 💜
