Yesterday for Lammas, I created a dreamcatcher to celebrate the rest of the fall clebrations along with Lammas. I don’t know If anyone is interested, but If you want to create it, here are the things you will need. WARNING! I did not measure any of my materials, so you may just have to wing it.
-glue gun+glue sticks
-a variety of fake or real flowers (I used fake ones)
-any color ribbon (long) or yarn
-wire coat hanger (or an actual base for the dreamcatcher)
-fake or real leaves (I used fake ones)
- more yarn (shades of browns) or cording
1: shape your wire coat hanger into a circle (It does not have to be perfect) If you already have a base, skip to step 2
2: put a bit of hot glue on the base of the coat hanger (where the hook is twisted) and stick the random colored ribbon (or yarn) on it. This is necessary so you you can stick the flowers and leaves on it. If you already have a base, I suggest using yarn and wrapping it around your base until you can’t see the base.
3: tightly wrap the ribbon or yarn around your base until you can’t see the base (except for the hook if you have a coat hanger
4: secure the ribbon or yarn by hot gluing it to the base from where you started it from.
5: make a pentagram out of the red ribbon on the inside of your base.
6: glue the flowers around the pentagram (like in the photo) first. They may come with little tips at the bottom, if so, cut them off.
7: attach a pinecone to a long piece of the brown yarn or cording with hot glue. You want to put a small pool of hot glue in the small indention at the bottom of a pinecone, and make a spiral towards the middle.
8: knot it to the bottom center of your base
9: you want to repeat step 7 again with the rest of the pinecones. Cut the string in different lengths so they will fall in a kind of ”v” shape
10: attach the rest of the pinecones by knotting them to where you want them
11: turn your dreamcatcher around and attach leaves to the back or the flowers, making sure that the ends of the leaves aren’t visible through the pentagram
12: decorate the strings with pinecones however you want, just make sure that the decoration is going to face forward when the pinecone is at rest.
Thank you to anyone who has made it this far! This is my first post here, and I hope that everyone who tries to do this has fun like I did!
