Hey I'm Liz I am new to the craft but I know I have always been a witch. I want to start doing spells maybe even making my own spells but one of my main problems is I never have all the ingredients for the spell or the money to buy the ingredients, also alot of times I don't even know where to get them or even what they are some times. So what I'm asking is there anything I can use to substitute different ingredients and the spells still work?

Hey Liz ! You can use clear quartz to subtitute any crystal or mineral, rosemary to substitute any herbs, rose instead of any flower and white candle instead of any colour and use paint or melted crayons on it if you want to use colour magic. You can use visualisation as well if it's something that works for you.
Also, you don't have to follow someone else's spell exactly. I see spells like recipes, many things can be substituted out. If you don't have a specific herb or crystal, look up its correspondence and find something that has the same property.
As for finding them, check your baking section at your local grocery store. I can find 99% of my herbs there in some dried form.
And, for "universal substitution" tobacco can be used for any poisonous herb.
