I am currently 12 years old, and I have just started learning about witchcraft. It's so fascinating! Is it a good idea for someone (who is pretty much still considered a child) to do spell work? I'm a little nervous and I don't know where to start or what information is reliable.

If you are alright with a slightly wiccan view, Harmony Nice is a good youtuber who has a series on that kind of stuff. As well as Magickians, Ella Harrison, Adela lavine has some mediumship stuff. And of course Wonderlust witch! Also Witch by Lisa Lister is a good book though it is woman based. Or Inner Witch which is neutral. If you want any more advice feel free to ask me though I am also a beginner witch ive done a bunch of the basic research. I'm 14 by the way. Have fun on the path! Oh and I dont think age is majorly important so long as youre serious about it and dont do spell work while feeling loads of emotion like anger etc.
Thank you! This was really helpful.
If I may add a different perspective... for me and mine, it has depended on the menstrual cycle. Maiden, Mother and Crone. If you can find the rhythm in your bodies, it reflects in your magick. And vice versa. Now, that we are born, for me, it has become a journey back in or to my mother/God/source. A year on a calendar has little reference in my perspective. Now, I am Crone. I find I am much stronger as I contain my blood each month. It is easier for me to allow and accept now despite my Scorpio nature. I have also noticed a new strength that I had briefly in my pregnancy. Enjoy and wonder at the beauty around you! Blessings on your paths! RRB
I started when I was your age, and yeah it's totally cool to do so. Because you're gonna hit puberty make sure that you learn how to meditate and not take negative emotions into your spell work. And when someone is bothering you or not being nice. Try to help them by sending them love rather than sending out hate hexes and curses. Everything you do will come back!
I’m only 13 and I’ve been learning about witchcraft since I was 7 or 8. I just recently changed my name from Anabella to Oliver and a lot is changing so I don’t know what I wanna do about witchcraft right now.
If you still wish it to stay a part of your life, a good start would be to just go back to basics. When you have a lot going on in life its okay to not be there everyday, remember we are still human. Try to set aside at lest one time a week, or find ways in your daily life to connect to it briefly. Ground, cleanse and protect.
When I was a child, your age I really was into witchcraft and old egypt. It was so magical to me and I loved reading about it. My mom wasn't for it and my brothers and sisters bullied me out of it. Now that I am almost 30 witchcraft had crossed my path again and I feel like this is the right time for me to really start pratice witchcraft instead of only reading about it.
Hi :) I started on the path when I was 12 as well. It's a really powerful turning point for many women; I find that many witches feel their calling at around age 13. Congrats, and welcome :)
When I was young, there were very few resources and the internet was still sort of new, but I learned the basics about the moon phases, planets/ stars, omens, divination, folklore & mythology, etc. My advice is: start wherever you want, with whatever subject fascinates you :) You get to choose! Whether you want to start with candle magic, spirit work, crystals &healing, or whatever, go for it.
The others are correct when they say to learn & practice meditation to help control your thoughts and focus. Your emotions will be super powerful and it can influence your work. Anything negative you cast upon someone will come back around to you, usually x3 as bad. From the sounds of it, we all learned the hard way haha.
Quick tips:
Get lots of sleep and eat healthy, nutrient dense foods. The more natural, the better.
Stay hydrated. Try to limit caffeine. Herbal teas are really good and can be used in spells!
Take Epsom salt baths to keep your energy free of negative attachments.
Meditation & yoga really help center & align your body and mind while keeping your body really healthy.
Hope this helps :)
Totally understand. I am a baby witch and still can wonder about spell work. A great starting place is just to focus on grounding, cleansing and protecting. These are the base foundation to any spell work. Olivia recently had a live, posted on her Youtube on this.
