I like plants, I care about the environment and saving it from the human footprint. I care about jesus Christ as well still. I am a stoner as well. I have a black cat and and a calico cat. I like to paint/draw and recreate/ up cycle things for new uses. I don’t like cooking much unless I have to. I also don’t know what branch of the craft to study. Wiccan, fairy, or whatever. I have seen many different types on Pinterest & YouTube. I am a creative, ambivert, open minded kind of person. I am also struggling with finding what kind of notes I should write down. Every person I have watched on the craft has said something different about spells and manifestations and what candles mean what.

Do some research, mull things over, do a little more research... Check out the suggestions here in the forum for books, websites, videos, and such (keep in mind that different cultures will lead to differences in practices & beliefs, e.g., take a look at YT videos from Benebell Wen to see how she blends classic Chinese practices with European practices). I suspect that the path that's right for you will slowly (maybe even not so slowly) make itself apparent. Let your own intuition & feelings guide you without paying too much attention to the labels, divisions, pigeonholes, definitions, types, etc. that H. sapiens is so fond of using to mess up the simple act of deciding "this feels right" vs "this doesn't feel right." :-) Happy hunting!
I don't think you should worry too much about putting a label on yourself if you're just started out. Maybe try a little but of everything and see what feels right to you. Research, research and more research. Play around and see what fits you the best. Eventually you'll find your path, there's no rush. If it's important to you to have a name for the type of witch you maybe start out with something like green witch or hedgewitch. It can always change as you and your craft grow. I hope this helps a little bit. I am also just starting out in the craft. :)
Merry meet! I am also new to all this and am a Christian witch. I found that when I prayed I found myself drawn to sigils. I have always found words to be a powerful thing so I first looked n to that then a few other things and found myself, like others here, making my own path. Find one thing to start with and dig into that then I assure you you will find other things that will speak to you in your research. Also if you ever want to talk feel free to reah out to me <3
Welcome, fellow Christian Witch! 😁 I'm also still pretty new at this. Last time I "dabbled" in the craft, I did not do so well, mainly due to not knowing myself or knowing how to listen to my intuition and wanting more to be what others wanted. 😑
Don't worry about the labels or what type of witchy path you "should" be following. Focus on more of the basics, like meditating, learning to visualize and still that nagging voice in your head so you can "hear" what you need. Instead of a Pintrest perfect IG Grimoire, it's okay to have a messy notebook that has your own thoughts and intuitions in it. It's ok to take note of what other people think on things, like colors (red is associated with war, passion, lust, sex, anger, blood), but also take note of how it makes YOU feel (maybe red is calming for you? Makes you think of healing instead of hurt). You can always streamline these notes into a fancy Grimoire later, when you feel ready.
Explore all the things you like. I'm primarily a kitchen witch, despite swearing off cooking in my teens. LOL But I also read tarot, am slowly working on turning my black thumb into a green one, would happily invite the fae to share my space, work with sigils and enchantments, knot work with my knitting, and dip my toes in several other paths.
Our Craft is not all or nothing and you don't have to pick one particular path or discipline and stick to it. It's not college! LOL Your Craft is your own, to make it how it works best for YOU, and you alone.
A Christian witch IS a type of witch! You can practice witchcraft and be a Christian, but you cannot be Wiccan because Wiccan is a different religion than Christianity. So you may just practice witchcraft and call in Jesus Christ and Mother Mary or Mary Magdalene as your deities. Or you could use the symbolism of the trinity instead of the triple goddess. I recommend following NewAgeHipster333 and TheChurchWitch on Instagram.
Hello! I'm glad you said that very plainly. I love wicca but I am definitely a Christian witch. I do practice tarot and candle magic and have started sigil work. I call on the God and Goddess. I am a former Mormkn/LDS. In that construct we believed in a Heavenly Father, and a Heavenly Mother as well as Jesus and the Holy Ghost. So calling on The God and the Goddess is not foreign to me and to me is still Christian. Churches are very structured and so I too struggled with me being the one that set the rules for my own practice. Basically everything is a guideline and you tailor it to you. I had to learn to give myself permission to do that. As a church goer all of the rules are in stone and done for you. The freedom of your own practice is that your practice is your own.
